STUDENT RESOURCE CENTER

On Wednesday, December 11th, we will open our Student Resource Center which is located in the back of the School Counseling Center. School Counselors have partnered with Administration and the University of Scranton to stock a supply pantry for our students.

We received our first donation today. Our initial haul includes rice, soup, pasta, peanut butter, canned tuna, personal hygiene items, school supplies, XL and XXL Polo shirts, oatmeal, and other great items.

In the near future, we will be getting regular donations from the University of Scranton's EFFORT (excess food for others recovery team) program. If you would like to help us in this endeavor please contact Ms. Nasser at christina.nasser@ssdedu.org.

LAUNCH&LEARN

The School Counseling Department was so excited to kick off our ‘Lunch and Learn: Career Series’ today! Our first professional speaker was Gino Piccolino, Senior Software Architect and Founder of Precision Point of Sale. The purpose of our career series is to provide our students an opportunity to meet a professional in their field of interest and to learn more about that field in order for them to make more informed decisions about future career paths. It was a very informative session that gave our students more information about the computer science field. Thanks again to Mr. Piccolino! Our students had a lot of great questions and we are very proud of them for taking advantage of this experience!
