Scranton High School would like to congratulate Abby Tirva for earning a silver medal for her photography in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. This honor, which is awarded by the nonprofit "Alliance for Young Artists and Writers" was chosen for a National Silver Medal in March. There were nearly 340,000 works submitted for this year's award, so her achievement puts her in the top 1% of all submissions.

Kudos to Abby and her photography teacher David Schulte for representing the finest Scranton High School has to offer in the arts.

Scranton HS Mock Trial Team sponsored a trip to Washington D.C. for the Honors History Classes on May 31st. Students had a 12 mile walking tour of Georgetown University, George Washington University, all monuments on the National Mall and Memorial Parks, White House, MLK Monument and FDR Monument.
SHS graduates Timothy McCormack Ph.D. candidate at Georgetown University and Seamus Moran Pre-Med Student at George Washington University helped Lead tours of their Universities and Washington D.C. Thank you to Mr. Dougherty for organizing this amazing experience for our students!
