Bring your Child to Work Day

On Friday, April 27, 2018, Scranton High School hosted it's annual Bring your Child to Work Day. It's truly an amazing day planned for the faulty and staff's children to participate in several activities throughout the day. Such activities included; dissecting fish, arts and crafts, face painting, swimming, gym and so much more. Thank you so much to all the faculty and staff involved in planning such a great event.

SHS French Club Field Trip to New York Metropolitan Museum of Art on April 24, 2018

The SHS French Club had a very enjoyable visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on April 24, 2018. While students viewed art from all over the world, of particular interest to the group was the temporary Visitors to Versailles (1682-1789) exhibit. This exhibit showcases through paintings, sculpture, tapestries, and more the type of welcome visitors to court received at the famous French palace from 1682-1789.

Penny War raises money to support the Jack of Hearts Foundation.

The Scranton High School Spirit Club recently held a penny war to benefit the Jack of Hearts Foundation's fundraising drive for the Ronald McDonald House. The Junior class came out on top and won the war, while the Sophomore class collected the most money, including over 5,700 pennies. The activity was run by Spirit Club members Mary K., Patricia H., and Eliyana K.; they are pictured with Lisa Scarfo, founder of the Jack of Hearts Foundation.

Congratulations to Scranton High Students for completing University of Scranton Success Program!

The University of Scranton facilitates a Success Program, and is recognizing several Scranton High School students. The Success Program is a pre-college program designed to provide academic, social and cultural enrichment to area high school students. The goal of the program is to assist participating students to gain entrance into a college or university. The program accomplishes the goal through creative and innovative techniques to encourage and motivate young students to expand their academic horizons.
